Senior Football
Kiladangan made their Senior Football Championship debut last Sunday where they put in a gallant performance against last year’s county finalists Killenaule with the south side winning out on a 4-14 to 4-7 scoreline in what was a great game of football. An Andy Loughnane goal in the first minute of the game gave Kiladangan a great start and they held the lead until Killenaule scored 2 quick goals mid way through the half. Killenaule enjoyed a 2-6 to 1-6 lead at half time. Kiladangan started the second half similar to the first, with a goal in the first minute, this time through Barry Hogan and Andy Loughnane scored his second goal three minutes later with a Dan O’Meara point in between with Kiladangan now leading 3-7 to 2-6. However, Killenaule dominated the next twenty minutes of the game scoring 1-7 without reply until a Darragh Egan goal with three minutes left on the clock putting just three points between the sides. However, Killenaule saw out the game with 1-1 in the last two minutes of the game to secure a seven point win. Full teams and scorers are available on the club website. The next round will take place later in the year with Kiladangan left to play both Cahir and Ballyporeen in the group stages.
Senior Hurling
Kiladangan have been drawn to take on Borris Ileigh in the North Quarter Final this coming Sunday (29th) at 3.30 pm in Dolla. Please come out to support the lads.
Intermediate Hurling
Hard luck to the Intermediate hurlers who lost out to Borrisokane last Friday evening in the preliminary round of the North Championship on a 1-15 to 1-18 scoreline. In what was a very even contest, the first half was a tit for tat affair with both sides trading points throughout until the late stages of the half with Borrisokane getting on top and they went into the break with a 1-11 to 0-8 lead. Kiladangan started well in the second half with an Eoin Meagher goal ten minutes into the half clawing back Borrisokanes lead to a single point. However, Kiladangan were unable to gain the lead with Borrisokane holding out for the remainder of the game to win by three points. Full teams and scorers are available on the club website.
Junior B
The Junior B hurlers will take on Silvermines in their next league game on this coming Friday (27th) at 8.00 pm in Puckane.
Under 6/8s
Outdoor hurling for U6s and U8s continues on Wednesdays at 6.00pm.
Parish League
Our Parish League has reached semi final stage and it is hoped to play these games over the coming weekends. The semi final pairings are North Vs South and East Vs West. Details of the teams are up on the Club’s Facebook page.
Under 12
Both U12 football teams are out in action this evening (Monday 23rd). The Roinn B team will take on Borrisokane at 6.30 pm in Puckane whilst the Roinn D team will take on Toomevara at 6.45 pm in Toomevara.
Under 14
The U14s were beaten by Burgess last Wednesday and have a bye this week..
Under 16
The 16s take on Ballinahinch Templederry this Monday evening (23rd) at 7.00 pm in the North ‘A’ Football Quarter Final in Puckane.
