Intercounty Hurling
Best of luck to Rian McGrath, Ruairí Hackett and the Tipperary Minor Hurling panel and management team as they take on Cork in the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Semi-Final this Saturday, 13th June, at 2:00pm in TUS Gaelic Grounds, Limerick. A huge occasion for all involved. Wishing the lads the very best of luck.
Hard luck to Ruairí Hackett and the Tipperary Blue U17 team who lost out to Kilkenny by a single point in the Celtic Challenge Corn Michael Hogan Final on Saturday. In a contest that ebbed and flowed throughout, Kilkenny enjoyed the upper hand during the middle stages of the game before Tipperary mounted a determined comeback. Tipp finished strongly and looked to be in control as they moved two points clear in the closing minutes. However, a dramatic late goal for Kilkenny proved decisive, snatching victory by the narrowest of margins, 2-13 to 2-12.
Senior Hurling
Best of luck to our senior hurling team and management as they take on Cashel King Cormacs in the Division 1 County Hurling League Final this Sunday, 14th June, at 3:30pm in The Ragg.
Junior Hurling
Our Junior B hurlers took on Nenagh Éire Óg last Wednesday evening in McDonagh Park. Played in challenging conditions with a very strong breeze, it proved to be a game of two halves. After an entertaining and closely fought encounter, the sides could not be separated at the final whistle finishing level at 2-12 to 0-18. The Junior B North final will be played on Friday 12th June, against Roscrea in Borrisokane at 7:30pm. Best of luck to all involved.
Primary Schools
A huge week for our two local primary schools, with both progressing to their U13 County Finals following fantastic semi-final victories last week. Kiladangan N.S. booked their place in the final after a thrilling extra-time victory over Gaelscoil Carrick-on-Suir, while Carrig N.S. secured their spot with an impressive win over Cashel Boys N.S.
Congratulations to Carrig N.S. on their fantastic victory on Monday 8th June in the Under 13 Cumann na mBunscoil County Final at Semple Stadium. Carrig looked sharp and determined, racing into an early lead and taking control of the game. Their strong first-half performance saw them go in at the break with a commanding advantage of 3-1 to 0-3. With the wind at their backs in the second half, Carrig started brightly once again. Borrisoleigh mounted a spirited fightback and kept the pressure on throughout. However, Carrig showed great resilience and teamwork to withstand the challenge. A fourth goal in the closing minutes put the result beyond doubt and sealed a memorable victory. This is a tremendous achievement for the school and a proud day for our club, with so many of our club members representing Carrig N.S. on the big stage at Semple Stadium. Congratulations to all the players on their outstanding effort and also to Mr.Meagher, Mr.Prout and Gary Byrne for their leadership and coaching throughout the year. Well done to everyone involved in Carrig N.S. – a county title to remember!
Hard luck to Kiladangan N.S. who represented themselves brilliantly in the Cumann na mBunscol County Final in Roinn D on Tuesday 9th June at Semple Stadium against New Inn BNS. It was a highly competitive game throughout, Kiladangan went into halftime trailing by just a single point, but showed tremendous character after the break. They battled their way back into the match and held the lead with only five minutes remaining. Unfortunately, a late goal proved decisive, with New Inn ultimately claiming victory by four points. This is the first time since 2012 that an U13 team from Kiladangan N.S. has reached a county final, making their achievement all the more special. A sincere thank you also goes to all the teachers, coaches and supporters who contributed so much throughout the year

Daragh Galvin, Dylan Finch and Donagh Egan represented Kiladangan N.S. and Tipperary in the Munster school hurling skills competition last week in Mallow GAA grounds. The boys performed excellently in tough conditions and secured a place as they narrowly lost out to Cork. This has been a great experience for the boys and will stand to them next year when all 3 will be in 6th class and can compete again. Thanks to all our GDA’s in Tipperary and Mr.Flynn who prepared them and hosted the North Tipp and County events and provided the boys with custom made Tipperary jerseys for the Munster competition. We look forward to watching the boys represent Kiladangan for the rest of the summer.
