Senior Hurling
Well done to the Senior Hurlers who had a 2-19 to 0-21 win over Borris Ileigh last Wednesday in Puckane in the last group game of the County Hurling League.
Borris made the better start to the game - leading 0-4 to 0-1 but Eoghan Sharkey levelled the sides with Kiladangan's first goal on the eight minute. Borris responded well with three points on the trot to lead 0-7 to 1-1. Kiladangan then hit a purple patch with six points without reply with Bryan McLoughney and Willie Connors impressing. The sides traded points in the closing stages of the half with Kiladangan enjoying a 1-11 to 0-10 half time lead. Kiladangan hit the first four points of the second half to give themselves an eight point lead. However, Borris then went onto hit their own purple patch - scoring six unanswered points between the 39th and 44th minute with the impressive Jerry Kelly scoring four points during this period. The sides traded points throughout the last quarter with Kiladangan managing to hold onto their lead during this period. A well worked goal from Paul Flynn on the 60th minute secured victory for Kiladangan.
