After last Friday nights adjourned AGM, the club are delighted to announce the appointment of three new life presidents - Seamus Hogan (Ballycommon), Noel Seymour (Lahorna) & Liam Flannery (Monsea). All three join existing Life President Jimmy Slattery of Ballyanny.

Seamus Hogan (Ballycommon)

Seamus had a distinguished career with Kiladangan & Tipperary. He was a Tipperary Minor in 1965 whilst he won an Under 21 All Ireland in 1967. He made his senior debut in 1969 & won an All Ireland Senior medal in 1971, lining out at midfield. He continued to line out with the counties senior hurlers until 1976, winning an Oireachtas medal in 1972. Seamus enjoyed substantial success at club level winning four North Intermediate medals with Kiladangan plus a county medal in 71. Seamus is also a former secretary (1974) & chairperson (1979/1980) with the club.

Noel Seymour (Lahorna)

In his playing days, Noel won four North Intermediate titles with Kiladangan plus a county title in 1971. He wore the blue and gold of Tipperary at minor and Under 21 (where he played at centre forward on the 1965 Munster Final winning team). He was called into the Tipperary Senior panel in 1966, playing in a number of league & Oireachtas games and played with the Seniors again in 1969 & 70. During these years, he also hurled with the Tipp Intermediate side and captained the team to All Ireland honours in 1972 (in the absence of his injured club mate Paddy Kelly). Noel also went onto fill the role of club chairperson from 1981 to 1984.

Liam Flannery (Monsea)

Liam was involved as a player with various Kiladangan hurling teams during the 1960’s. He started his administration roles with the club in 1988 as Juvenile club chairman which he fulfilled for 6 years until 1994, during this time he introduced a coaching scheme which proved to be pivotal in the development of our underage players at hurling and football and was a key contributor to the club’s success at adult level in later years. In 1999 he was elected as Senior club chairman in what proved to be the start of a very successful period at the club on and off the field, the development of the Stand in 2001 was a significant addition to the club while in 2003 Kiladangan became the first club in North Tipperary to erect flood lights a considerable benefit to our teams in the latter stages of competitions, on the field the club won the North Intermediate title for the first time in 21 years in 2001 while also winning club of the year for the first time that year. Liam has also been an ever present on club committees and executive for the past 25years.

It’s a fitting honour for all three men who have played key roles in the club throughout the years.
