North Tipperary Presentation Night
The Thatched Cottage Ballycommon hosted the 2021 North Tipperary GAA Presentation night last Friday evening where Kiladangan collected the Club of the Year award. Shane Gleeson (Under 19 ‘A’) and Conor Culhane (Under 21 ‘A’) collected their awards whilst Alan Flynn was awarded the overall hurler of the year along with his Senior accolade. Well done to all. In addition, the victorious Kiladangan captain’s collected their team’s medals – David Sweeney (Senior), Johnny McGrath (Junior B), Liam Hayes (Junior C), Darragh Flannery (Under 21) and Shane Gleeson (Under 19). Recently appointed Kiladangan Life President Seamus Hogan was the North Board’s special guest on the night where he presented the awards.
Dinner Dance
The club will host a dinner dance on Saturday 12th March where medals will be presented to the victorious teams from 2021 along with the 2020 County Senior Hurling winning panel. Tickets cost €30 and are available to purchase online at KiladanganGAA.com and will be available to purchase in the shops & pubs in the parish in the coming days (they will also be available for purchase this Wednesday 2nd March at 7.30 pm in the GAA complex in Puckane). It promises to be a great night of craic and music with plenty of entertainment planned. Sean Slattery and The Connections will be providing the music on the night.
Golden Ticket Fundraiser
The Kelly family are running a fundraiser in memory of Paddy Kelly, with the proceeds being split 50/50 between Kiladangan GAA and North Tipp Hospice. Along with the original 950, there are now an additional 500 big bars of chocolate for sale at €10 each with an additional 5 Golden Tickets with extra prize money to be won.
These bars can be purchased by contacting Eamonn Kelly on 086 252 4819 or through the following: McGraths Puckane, Kennedy's Puckane, Tony's Ballycommon, Una Powells, Andy's Nenagh and Roscrea Branch of the North Tipp Hospice.
Paddy Kelly’s anniversary mass will take place this coming Friday 4th March at 7.30 pm in the GAA complex in Puckane. The draw for the golden ticket fundraiser will take place in the complex at 8.30 pm.
County Hurling League
Kiladangan are entering one team in the county league and will take Drom Inch, Loughhmore Castleiney, Mullinahone, Toomevara & Upperchurch Drombane. The first round game will take place on the weekend of March 20th away to Drom Inch.
Intercounty Hurling
Hard of luck Barry Hogan (goals), Alan Flynn (midfield), Paul Flynn (corner forward) and James Quigley who were part of the Tipperary Senior Hurling panel that were defeated by Dublin in the third round of the league last Saturday. They will take on Waterford in the next round this coming Sunday at 1.45 pm in Walsh Park. Well done to Darragh Egan who managed the Wexford Senior Hurlers to a six point win over Galway last Sunday.
Lotto
Kiladangan Lotto draw took place last Monday 21st February. There was no winner of the €19,400 jackpot (4,9,10,14) or the Second Chance €500 Draw (9,19,29,34) The €25 lucky dip winners were as follows: Colleen Ryan (online), Alice Kelly (Puckane), Edward Hayes (Puckane), Anthony Kelly (Knigh). Many thanks to everyone for supporting the lotto.
We would urge people to sign up for the lotto online at kiladangangaa,com/products. There are currently a number of options available online on how long you can sign up for whilst tickets are also available in the shops and restaurants in the parish.
Every Step Counts Challenge
Well done to everyone who took part in the “Every Step Counts” challenge where the club hit a cumulative distance of 15,469 km – well above the 4,000 km target – a brilliant achievement. Well done to Patricia Kenny who was Kiladangan’s leader with a whopping 810.8 km. The club will now be entered into a prize draw. In each province there are 3x O'Neills vouchers up for grabs - €2,500, €1,500 & €1,000
Set Dancing
Set Dancing Night/Class starting in Muintir na Tire Hall Ballycommon on Wednesday 9th March, 8.15pm to 10pm. All levels welcome including beginners. Fun night to meet the neighbours. Just turn up. Phone 087 7739636 for more information.
